George Claflen's managerial experience is particularly broad through his work as both a studio teacher and an academic leader. His ability to make things happen in the complicated web of the university has reinforced his capacity to do the same for clients. He has also trained his staff to manage efficiently and effectively. The firm has developed special techniques for guiding the work of contractors and sub-contractors of varying abilities to achieve high quality results.

In the early 80’s the firm assisted in resolving a crisis situation faced by the US EPA which was being evicted from its office space. In the course of this project, documents and advice were provided leading to completed project components on a 100,000 SF fit out within a five month period, including documents.
