BABSON COLLEGE AUDIO VISUAL
CLASSROOM
Arrowstreet designed the Babson
College Library and Educational Center in Wellesley, Massachusetts
in 1970. George Claflen was the responsible member of the design
team. The college requested classrooms for 50 students with advanced
audio visual capabilities. Subtle adjustments of projection and
seating geometry are employed to resolve many of the program requirements
which were years ahead of their time, in relation to contemporary
use of video.

1. Screen aligns diagonally with seating for best
optics.
2. Students have simultaneous view of screen and
lecturer/blackboard area.
3. Lecturer has view of the screen.
4. Slightly sloped floor improves eye contact.
5. Individual orientation of each seat provides
optimum alignment. |
